The Love of Nature
Listening to the splashing sound
Of water running in rock pool
We did walk to higher ground
Where the breeze it seemed quite cool
No more my limbs are in their prime
As these hills they are quite steep
In my younger days I would climb
Now I leave it to grazing sheep
Although I am no longer young
I try to do my very best
I guess I know my song is sung
So I sit down to have a rest
I guess that still, I do love life
Nature gives me so much joy
But though the aches they give me strife
My love of life naught can destroy
