The Long Road Home

The Long Road Home April 3, 2016 It's been a struggle on our long road home Troubled times for our people, ourselves alone We've lost our friends and our family on the way We stand united together on our streets everyday Growing up in our country with the others that came Soon made our children play the patriots game Loosing a friend of your childhood days Thoughts in your heart, the memory stays walking through fields, thinking of four This lovely land a nation once more From every street we lost one of us Lead don't discriminate, we know what it does The children of today with Irelands cause We're never going back, it's forward and more Free people in our new land, Irish for sure No hate in our land only justice and peace Our struggle is over, the drums must cease We'll live together the way it should be When that day comes we will be free It's been a struggle on our long road home Troubled times for our people, ourselves alone Gerrard McGeachy
