The Lone Bicycle

One lone bicycle left in the bicycle rack Out in front of the town high school A reminder that he won’t be coming back After horrific events in these times so cruel Where do children get hold of assault weapons In a country we call civilized Classmates cut down before their prime Answers buried in political lies His bicycle serves as a harsh reminder Of how quickly our world can change Happily he peddled to school that morning Before walking in the path of a child deranged You can’t make me believe that rights are served By allowing citizens to carry these arms Just look at that bicycle with no rider to claim And try convincing me gun controls do harm
