The Light Trilogy

A unique shape, composed of glass, steel and stone, Expressly constructed to guide mariners home. Magnifying lenses would help focus a solitary beam, So that far out in the darkness, the light could be seen. The LIGHTHOUSE! I know you've seen one before, On the rocky, Maine coast or some Great Lakes shore. Some designate a rock shoal or a jagged reef Steering ship's captains away from certain grief. Other mark a channel--one light on each side-- Or the entrance to a marina ,and the safety inside. Jesus is the Light, on life's tempestuous sea, And I'm so glad that Beacon , one day rescued me! On my drive to work, in the early morn All around me is darkness; it seems so forlorn! I see few other vehicles on the highway. Most folks haven't yet risen to face a new day. Wait! There's a light in that house over there! Someone is up, and starting to prepare. There's another light;now two; now a half dozen more, Even some new ones, I had not seen before! While a light from a house, puts me at ease. The Light shining through God's Family brings me real peace. I walk amidst a world that is spiritually dark. People longing for God , yet they keep missing His mark! They try to create their own way home, Not realizing,it lies through God's Grace alone! Lord, make Your Light shine brighter through me, 'Cause I may be the only lighthouse some soul will see! Charlie Pelota HSLP 3-6-2005
