The Last Horizon
As light dances red to horizon's end
So do we, approaching last breath
To complete life's arc, with its final bend
And contemplate stillness in silent death
How quickly we flee from our past design
Find disordered reflections to ponder
And struggle with our memory's decline
To lose direction, begin to wander
How fleeting our journey across this place
Through life's cluttered meadows of colored days
Their smaller shadows, their vanishing trace
We'll cling to fading days of lighter grays
How slow our understanding of this plight
How short journey's end through darkness and light
