The Last Electronic Heart Beat

The last electronic heart beat, My last breath was sure to follow. A hand reached down from heaven, And I stepped into the hollow. Though the body I once occupied, Has died and passed away. My soul had long departed, And is well upon its way The only thing that pain’s me now, Is I have left you dear behind. But it hurts to have left someone, So warm hearted and so kind. But the world is at no loss, As theirs new life to take my place Just a child’s first breath, Will restore the human race

This is such an interesting read, Mark. I am not sure I fully get it, but it feels very sci fi to me! I recall some book called "the Body electric" that perhaps I read a long time ago. Or this could simply be the passing of a father and his child comes into the world, but from the last line, it seems more profound than that! Glad you liked son of a preacher man. I think a few people did not appreciate it. It was just a kid I imagined. Could you relate to him? LUv, Andrea
