The Last Book of Rebecca

THE LAST BOOK OF REBECCA There did come out from the land of in between, where no mind has ever been before, the spirit of the space, and it did say unto Rebecca I have come to give you love and understanding. But she did rebuke the spirit and then did say but no man has yet to find my heart for it is in the body of one who is not a sight to see. And the spirit did say I will give unto you the pureness of the sun for your skin, so that your white and your pink are a joy to all men, like none have known before. And she did feign but she believed it not. Then she did respond unto the spirit, which had come from her screen, do you not know that where there be great flesh, so there can no longer be great love? And do you not know that the masters of the world have said and decreed that we of great mass be an abomination and not someone to love? To which it did say, I can not believe it is so. And she did cry, but did keep her fingers alive on the keys. And she did loath the spirit for it made promises she could no longer believe. And then the spirit did say lo, I have a name and that is Svengali, and I will give you love and understanding. And she did respond and say look at my limbs, yea gaze upon my great thighs, have you any understanding of what my love could be? And it did say yea. Then turned she from the screen for she could not believe what it did say. Then it said my name is Svengali, and I will give you love. And she did say unto the spirit so you have a name, do you not have a face as well? But it responded not. And it did say I have a heart and it is good. Do you not care that it is filled with love? And she said yea, it is what my life has hungered for, but hid myself away in my own closet when it does appear. And it did say, I have done likewise for my face is pitted and a sight to behold. But I have love. And she did say, who-fore do you offer this love? Then it did say, it is your own self. That you love every zit. And she did not respond, but layed it to rest tho the hour was not yet late and so she did make the screen to go black. But came it anyway, filled with instruction for the night was yet young and lovers were waiting to march in the heat of the night. And Svengali did say unto Rebecca, get you into the heat of the night join arms ye not with those bearing torches to show their way out of the dark,. But turn your heat unto the zits, love them each and every one so that they shall love you in return, for such is the will of all life. But she answered and said but why do they refuse my love is the desire yet living in my flesh? But it said, to fill your balloons with the nectar of thy of thy womb and lend it unto their very hairs upon there heads. Be alarmed in your youth, take with you a solid baseball bat to beat your love into their heads. And yea, she had yet more inquiring mind not knowing as to who controlled the very heart of Svengali. And she did inquire but what if they will never love Me? And Svengali did say spread your limbs so that they might see how warm and delightful comes a summer rain. But why will they never love me? she did say. And Svengali did answer and say in great truth and wisdom, Because your uncouth outshines your great beauty. and leads to the destruction of all things. © ron wilson aka vee bdosa the doylestown poet
