Volcanoes are really something. Another world--a blast from the past. They have to be experienced. The aftermath is surreal, just like your words. Great job.

Thank you Sara for commenting "At the River"! even today when it snowed I could hear the sounds of the train's engine. Here tracks are still used even daily by the steam train connecting some villages from the town of Zittau. On google4 earth you could see the town of Zittau and its surrouondings. Like your Haiku! Isn't it amazing what one could express with only few words? Keep your pen flowing .Gert
