The Ladies on the Street
'Tis a tragedy, I say,
The path these women take today.
They trade their virtue for some coin,
For lustful pleasures without join.
Their hearts are empty, cold and bare,
No love within, no goodness there.
Their marriages are full of strife,
No children born, no blessed life.
Their beauty wasted on the street,
With naught but fleeting pleasures sweet.
Their morality, oh, where has it fled?
When will these women see instead?
That true love is found in God above,
Not in the fleeting pleasures.
