The Kiss
One last kiss before he leaves,
A token vowed as they part.
A luring note creating linger as
time will test an idle heart.
Two lost souls alone in a world,
Left with nothing but this taste.
A hazy zest that must prevail for
a broken seal knows waste.
An old adventure renews a smile,
A friend whose charms incite.
A clever plot that favors a yen but
fades wanting without a bite.
His loyal spirit finds way home,
She bears the fruit of her love.
A quaint bequest worth more than
gold and honored by grace above.
