The Journey
As I begin my journey, there are things that have me baffled
Should I take the busy road, or the one less traveled?
Because one path is narrow, but the other one is wide
One way will lead to sorrow, but the other to joy and pride
Will it make your heart rejoice, this pathway that I choose?
Will I walk with the smart ones, or drag behind the fools?
Will I let life's distractions lure me off of the right course?
And when I err, will I be smart enough to feel remorse?
So many things ahead of me that I anticipate
So many things to do and see, decisions I must make
You've held my hand up until now; and letting go, I vow
To always make you feel as proud of me as you do now
So as I leave childhood behind, I hold my head up high
And thank you for preparing me for the journey that is life
