The Innocent
Pitiful faces shining bright eyes
Begging for love not wanting to die
Starving children left on their own
The fittest survive the rest skin and bone
Men in high places sit back and rule
Ignoring the misery their actions do fuel
The small and the innocent suffer more than the rest
Orphaned so young while others invest
Fighting for rubbish racing the rats
Nowhere to be seen any pet dogs or cats
Why must this happen what right have we
To take from these children their right to be free
