The House You Never Built
The house you never built
Has a nice setting on the edge of town
it has really nice curb appeal
with the perfect landscaping and edging
the shrubs and even a rose bush
there is a garden out back
This is the house you never built
you never put your heart in it
I was not worth it to you
what you didn't tear down
Is what you left me with
all alone, empty inside
I look in the mirror
I see a house that needs a lot of attention
something you never gave me
With some work, right buyer
I could be back on the market
some new carpeting and drapes
would really be a nice change in me
The Realtor called
they found a potential buyer
A widower
he lost his house in a tragic fire
He looking for a fixer-upper
something he could invest time and money in
he has experience remolding houses
Maybe, I can finally get this house finish
the house you never built
