The Heart of Christmas
Christmas tree and fairy lights
Stocking hanging by the fire
Burn more fuel as winter bites
The logs piled ever higher.
White Christmas playing on tv
Garden white with snow
Children play excitedly
He will come tonight they know.
Mummy can you please bake
A cake as smooth as Silk
Ice a picture of Rudolph on the cake
Then fill a glass with milk.
Perhaps a carrot for the reindeer
Will give them the strength to pull the sleigh
Do it quickly mummy dear
Santa is on his way .
At 5.0. clock next morning
Children dash in through our bedroom door
Parents given warning
Of what this special day has in store.
Yelling like a banshee
The kids delight in every gift
This is the heart of Christmas day for me
The sight gives my heart a lift.
Treasure every second and every memory
Then the magic of Christmas will last eternally.
