The Hand From Above
The sun’s rays are like fingers from heaven
reaching to touch all upon the earth.
Just like Him, to keep His hand upon us.
The fingers have been there since birth.
They protect us and feed us and warm us
in times of trouble and hunger and cold.
Though, the fingers that touch us are youthful,
in nature and time, they’re quite old.
Since the beginning of time they’ve been here,
way before we were even a thought.
They’ll still be around, once we have gone,
for others, as we have been taught.
Don’t look to strangers when needs are great.
Do not look to strangers for your love.
If a touch is what you need, anyway,
Then look for the hand from above!
