The Grass May Look Greener
They say you can n’er be too rich, or too tall
Or too thin, or too pretty of form and face
But I’m here to say… don’t let envy befall
Slow down and don’t let yourself run that race!
Just look to a person who seems on the top
Personality and charm... life with a flair
Now, look deep enough and you’ll come to a stop
You’ll find something lacking and hiding there.
They have no loyal friends, and you have a lot
Tho they may be wealthy, you have what you need
They are bogged down with worry, but you are not
Your life filled with contentment, theirs with greed.
If the grass seems greener on the other side…
Careful, the cows may have left something to hide!
