The Grandeur of Fall

I see winter jasmine at the roadsides seasons jostle for position, always yet, a momentary stillness abides for a reminder of ~ something, a phase lured by beauty or loss of tomorrow the past or the future - easy edit 'now' - treated recklessly, cannot borrow It is fact there is no time on credit the decayed damaged brown leaves underfoot as nature requires of them for nurture reminiscence still lingers as stay put beauty of fading memory endure nothing more beautiful than time stood still lessons learnt pausing as seasons distil

A beautiful sonnet. It overflows with grandeur. BOL in the contest. I will do well.

Thanks SV - it's not overflowing with iambic pentameter or whatever. I just can't hear stressed and unstressed syllables well enough to form a sentence. We'll see!

In the movie Star Trek Insurrection, they reflect on a moment of nature by slowing time down to an almost pause and then take time to see the beauty, your poem reminded me of that, I think you captured the introspection and moments of autumn well.

This is a grandeur of poetry. I can smell trees when I read brown leaves underfoot. It is very descriptive.

Thank you Hilda, I can't get to grips with sonnets but I'm starting by just throwing my hat in the ring. Form wise it has failings but hopefully content wise it's not so bad. Thank you for your kind words, appreciated

Consider this an approximation of a sonnet - apologies
