The Glory That the Heavens Have Revealed

So jubilant they are, so divinely they sing... they have gathered around their earthly King; we can hear the cow and the donkey breathing, their breath will keep Mary's beautiful baby warm without shivering; come to the manger, see the glorious King wrapped in plain clothing! His place of birth should have been Heaven, nearer His father who for Mankind's sake sent Him down to earth to redeem all from sin; huddled shepherds on the hill are fully awake they partake in the glory that the Heavens have revealed, and taking that bright road, they sing and praise their Lord. Many dark towns they go through, but the big star, won't reach Bethlehem yet; right behind three weary kings on draped camels slowly follow, they came very far to visit the divine child who has no riches but humble things. How happy they are to have found Him soundly asleep and kneeling they offer Him the most precious gifts! The bearded shepherd has brought a bleating sheep, the little boy a wooden toy and the wool weaver soft quilts. No cold sky was ever filled with deep silence and rare splendor, gaze far, it has more stars for us to adore through the chilliest air; no hymns ever sung are more joyful, such calmness they stir! Yes, the glory that the Heavens have revealed has the finest décor! Written on 12/ 26/ 2016
