The Giving Tree
Deep in Heartstone
Amongst the Whispering Trees
Grew, The Giving Tree
I felt its’ heart
Below the bark
And asked
What of me?
The leaves rustled
The breeze lifted
I pressed my cheek to its’ heart
And felt everything gifted
What I feel
Centuries old
Of magic
Of nature
Of faeries told
To be chosen
To carry the bow
Defend all
The Heartstone in the Great Hall
The Kings and Queens
Of Knights deeds
To repel the Ice king
And the heart, so frozen
The Giving Tree
I felt its’ heart
Below the bark
And knew instantly
To see
The flight of an arrow
On to its ‘ mark
This I felt
In the heart
Below the bark
Of the giving tree
