The Gift

Find respite in an island with uplifting hands. as a stranger, walking through strange lands. What does it mean to belong? be better to another a special someone, free of toil someone yours. Not enough to belong in today you're in deep, rapt in the present at foot of an evergreen, where you fell asleep. What time will you wake? is time a thing known as such and.. will it be too late. You find yourself charmed in a chapel.. with pennies plucked from your eyes, now placed at your feet. Will angels hear praying under Basilica' stars for theirs for ours..? Must be turning to sunrise, always be at it swift for a reckoning comes, wi' hope for you in, Jacob Marley's* gift. ~~~~~*Jacob Marley - Charles Dickens 'A Christmas Carol' 1843 ~~~~~

Thanks for sharing this. God bless you. Meanwhile, I greet you with a Joyous New Year with this prayer from the Bible in Numbers 6:24-26, "The Lord bless thee, and keep thee: The Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace."

What a deep and profound write this is. I especially love the opening lines and the very intriguing nature of your lines throughout this poem. “ You find yourself charmedin a chapel..with pennies plucked from your eyes, now placed at your feet. ” soul hitting! Powerful write. Pleasure reading this.
