The Freed Prisoner
Now, that I've been freed,
I beg you never to forget:
That before you poke me,
Or my poetry...
I'm only part of all
That I have endured.
Now, that I've come home,
I beg you never to forget:
That before you stigmatize me,
Or my sorrow...
I'm only part of a tragic tale
Of deceit
That I have survived.
Now, that I've found solace,
I beg you never to forget:
That before you disturb me,
Or my pursuit...
I'm only part of an equation
That I have not solved.
Now, that I've healed wounds,
I beg you never to forget:
That before you judge me,
Or my scars...
I'm only part of all
That we are.
