The Fragile Rose Cornish Sonnet

A fragile rose beneath a lost moon, cries Its loving stem of life has been broken Torn by a hand passing and left to die Her sad leaves are turning brown and falling Knows love will never flower, unspoken And yet hears whispered loneliness calling Memories turn silent, finally dies While quiet hurried flights of fireflies slow Caught by summer's wind, leaves tumble and spin While reasons and goodbye are fading sight Bending and wilting, the rose lost its glow Casting shadow, turning day into night This fragile rose beneath a lost moon, cries Memories turn silent, finally dies

- Love's painful death - fades quietly away - quiet, sad and sorrow - memories are silent .... but never dead. - A really clever and heartbreaking poem Frederic ! - oxox // Anne-Lise :)

WOW.. this is such a powerful piece. I think your metaphors are really good. Mostly I enjoyed the way you described a rose at the end of it's splendor. Xx
