The Four Kings

The King of Air........... Wears a crown of pale blue Chased in clouds of white Shaped like wings too Robes of blue Swirls of white The king of light............ Rising in the air, majestic flight The wind blew........ like a startled colt In his calm...... Soft wind............ In his anger........... The lightning bolt The King of Fire........ Wears a crown of fiery fire chased in gold Shaped like fire..... From the forge........ Burning desire Robes of orange and red....... How hot the flame........ That you cannot tame The burning........ Slowly turning Heat to sear............ Firelight Burning deep into the night Fire to fear Fire to hold dear The King of Water............ Wears a crown of deep blue Chased in white and green sculpted waves Reflecting too Robes of beauty and form The waves.......... The storm........... Encompassing oceans Secret depths Full of emotions Lakes, rivers and streams The power of dreams Cascading waterfalls...... Deep pools and streams Within the source............. The water course, The water force Ebb and flow Gentle so.......... from the king of dreams The King of Earth...... Wears a crown of forest green Chased in flowers Shaped with leaves............ Earthly powers The Kings' cloth......... A living thing........... of greenleaf and bark The sound of the lark Hear it sing............ The king's cloth....... A living thing To stride the land The forest....... The birds........... All held in his hand The four Kings Crowned...... Air to breathe......... Fire to seethe......... Water flow....... Earth to grow.......... The elements found The crowns to wear......... The elements.......... For ages hence........... The kings ............ Sense, all these things......... Everywhere
