The Flood
Noah got instructions to build the ark from above
Then he put in all creatures including the doves
They cooed at each other in melodies of love
Rain started falling and off they shoved
The water kept rising and the ark sailed along
And the doves kept on cooing, cooing their song
The water got higher, to the mountain it reached
The doves cooed for freedom, and the owl screeched
When the rain finally stopped Noah wanted to know
If there was dry land out there so the animals could go
He sent out the raven, it never returned
Noah assumed that the poor bird had drowned
Then he sent out a dove, gentle and meek
It soon returned with an olive leaf in its beak
Then Noah knew that the animals could go
As the very first rainbow put on a show
