The Fire That Consumes

The last time that I saw you You were headed for the dark Fighting off the sunrise Dying for a deadly spark Tinder wet with teardrops You were aching but to burn Frost upon the window pane That wants to quench its thirst The last time that I saw you You were near to the abyss Wanting but to see your soul The way it truly is A desperate search to find yourself A hopeless hope to be You wanted to dissolve yourself Into an empty sea But don't you know, you doubter That despair only destroys Oh don't you know, within you Underneath all of this noise There is a seed so hollow That bears fruit of self unseen For this you search, oh doubter In this, all your wandering Will find its end For there lies truth Within one bitter taste of fruit Within the self-destruction That impossible induction That you are Only this And nothing more Your own Darkness
