The Fire

I feel a calm about me where a fire was, A flame I tried to tame but its blaze was to bright The fire burned anyone who got too close and engulfed my spirit. My mind hidden within the flames the smoke clouding my steps I cried out for rain relief from my embers On my knees and seared I felt the mist and began to cool. God was with me there as He was all along He calmed the fire and freed my spirit My mind has been found and I can breathe again.
