The Fallen Place

Some have fallen here and met the gaze of a dying, setting sky, blue hazed in anticipation. The air caressed them, every so softly, as they went; whispering with a gentle breeze, calling them with delight. The ground solid, yet giving, held them as they lost their grip. It asked for nothing in return, while giving all it had in its possession. The rain, making its presence known, washed away their sorrows and the sun dried up the pain. Snow fell in flakes of sparkling color, warming the souls of those that had once been so tattered and cold. The wind whispered secrets to all of their problems and the trees bent their boughs to offer a hand. A stray squirrel winked his eye and offered the truth and a bird cocked his head as if to approve. Some have fallen here, in such a place, where all you see is there and all you hear is true. Where even the casting shadow hold no secrets. In this place, only time will deceive you and leave you behind. You grow younger each day yet still fade away; no one will ever know you came. As you walk the last mile, the light within the darkness will lead the way. Some have fallen here, where the end is only the beginning and the beginning never ends. Eternity drifts like a hot desert wind, slowly across its realm then rising above the empty void. Close your eyes and let it wash you free. You no longer have any need to perceive reality… Listen carefully and you might see the way to the Fallen Place.
