The Faces We See
Saw a young boy around the corner,
crooked smile beaming at the sun.
And in that moment his dreams swept over me.
A vision of life.
It's our right he shouted, for every boy to grow.
I smiled and said yes.
Even though
I heard ominous sirens from the streets below,
and a broken voice begging please.
