The Face That Looks Back At Me
I am so scared of the mirror,
day after endless day,
countless times I am persecuted,
by the face that looks back at me.
"Can you hear me?
My heart cries out to those who hurt.
To those who feel broken.
To those who itch to crawl out of their skin,
just like me...
I am in desperate need of salvation,
and forgiveness.”
And then there was You...
You came to me,
without restraints,
without questions,
picked me up,
and brought me into Your world.
So full of laughter
freedom...
-and love.
I heard a whisper so sweet in the breeze...
“Sweet child of mine, listen to my words..
I live inside you.
I am your freedom.
I am your laughter, your smile.
I am your soul saving wonder.
I am your warmth,
Your acceptance,
I am your friend,
-and your love.
I shall lead you toward the path
of righteousness.
Search for Me
feel My mercy as your pain subsides.
My warmth shall encompass you, sweet girl.
I need you to follow Me, and you need Me to lead.
Without each other, you would break
and I would be sad.
So try to live the best life you have ever had.”
I was so scared of the mirror,
day after endless day,
now I am proud of....
the face that looks back at me.
