The Face of a Hero
The face of a hero
Is camouflaged in green,
Miles away from home
Loneliness is a soldier’s scene.
With courageous strength
They never give up to give in,
Putting their lives on the line
For the price of freedom to win.
They faithfully follow orders
Without a single complaint,
Marching past protesters
And the ignorance they paint.
The cost of their uniform
Is dedicated with honor and pride,
The patch on their shoulder
Unites the soldier inside.
They face the unknown
With each new day,
The gift of discipline
To guide their way.
They soar for peace
With an eagle’s grace,
Protecting the birth
Of freedom’s place.
They give our tomorrow
A reason to be,
Inspiring us to remember
The soldiers who died for you and me.
The face of a hero
Holds the spirit of our land,
Fighting for our freedom
And giving us a reason to stand.
DEDICATED TO EVERY SOLDIER,
PAST, PRESENT & FUTURE
