The Evenings Lake
I walk for sunshine
When day light refuses
To open her eyes
I move in a mist
To shelter those
Whom walk alone
I accept darkness
For it is I
Who reflects it’s cries
I am okay
As long as
You think I am
I dare not yield my smile
For you find comfort
Only in my misery
I see trials before me
But I shall take this time
To remember us
To get off my feet
To rest my head
Relax my shoulders
I’m alive
I’m awake
I rose above
This
evenings
lake
