The Essence of Prayer.

Prayer is not the act of kneeling nor reading the psalms It is not offering sacrifice and doing penance It is within us from conception. Who we are and what we do daily is touching the untouchable being part of that which swirls within and around us. the spirit of God within us. Prayer's in the wind that blows,the trees that sway The birds that sing, our very life itself Even the sound of raindrops that nourishes the earth nature’s gifts bestowed by His Divine hand. Prayer is a way of life The air we breathe, the sounds we hear every step we take ,the first breath of a newborn, a handshake ,is a form of prayer. As the sun shines brightly upon the earth So too does God's light shine illuminating the spirit Reach out , immerse your spirit in His love for that is the essence of prayer.
