The End Is Golden

Collect the leaves, collect the leaves Throw them into a pile The end is beautiful The end is golden Spin in a circle and watch the forest dance Turning into a rainbow of brown and gold Remember how it felt to be in her arms Remember how it felt to be alive Pick up the leaves in the pile Throw them in the air A parade of gold and brown leaves They're falling with your tears When everything you feared came to be This insignificant moment Could be the moment to set you free The moment to unlock your heart A heart once torn apart Divorce your emotions And your devotion to sorrow Another Autumn has come and gone Another Winter has come again To wash away all of the pain Remember that you were at your worst You were at your worst But tomorrow could be your best Dressed in a fancy little suit In that beautiful suit she bought you The one you hated and wanted to return But now you wear that suit Because you're going to your graduation A grandstand of euphoric ovation But that day will be tomorrow Today you wallow in the sorrow And bury yourself in gold and brown leaves The end is beautiful The end is golden
