The Dungeon

The dungeon walls, Closing in, I know not where I am going, But I know where I have been. Thru the windows of hell, No light shining, Not a soul to tell, My heart pining. For your love, I am longing, The morning dove, He is calling. Yet deeper, Into the depths of hell, I go, The flames flicker, As I drown in my sorrow. You, And only you can save me, Lift me up with your love, But you are too angry, What did I do, I will never know, My love was true, I tried to show you so. But you would not listen, Too wrapped in yourself, You lost all passion, My heart, left on the shelf. Now with each second, The deeper I go, Darker and dampened, Red flames and yellow. Such extreme heat, Comes from below, I feel defeat, No hope to bestow. 1-18-2009
