The Divine Exchange
Am deeply moved by the passion of a poor Nazarene
Who walked on the dusty road of Jerusalem
A perfect man who walked on earth
A Royal Son of a lowly birth
God’s inexplicable love was manifested
Not in college laboratory or lecture rooms
But in the physical body of a suffering man
In His broken body a divine order began
He had thorns on His head
Blood dripping upon His face
His body was tortured and torn
He was despised and scorn
He had to carry a heavy craggy cross
In fatigue He fell on the ground
But he got up and fell again!
He stood up and fell again!
He was nailed to that old craggy cross
Cut off completely from God
Took my place and suffered the separation
He took my shame and made me a new creation
There was one picture in His mind
There was one passion in His heart
His finished work stood beyond the dimensions of time
Yet, His works were considered the worst crime
The devil ignorantly laughed in triumph
A mirage of judgment and justice
Little did this fox know Jesus has won an eternal race
God has orchestrated a “Divine Exchange” to take place
For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich. 2 Corinthians 8:9
