The Deserted's Walk

They walked and they walked, as tiring as the truth They looked back and around, there should be a stop They took their courage and demanded to not halt, Where shall it take them? A question they long asked And so it begun, walked they did As painful and as tired they may seem Took some breath and dragged their way back up again Where shall it take them? a fading doubt whose grave they slowly dig One, two, three, four...five The deserted begged for a dive Fearless, they stand on their ground Stubborn, they showed no mercy And up they marched, with burdens none could lift They marched and to a halt they finally came Bidding thee farewell, To the deserted no longer seen.
