The Day the World Refused To Shine

The sun didn't shine that day Birds refused to sing The sky was black with anger Poets couldn't rhyme She was a happy girl Her parents loved her so While asleep in her fluffy bed She sat straight up CRASH! The moon didn't shimmer The stars were onyx The flowers didn't grow And grass didn't turn green. The girl thought she was alone Without a friend in sight Then her Uncle came To take her in the night. Dogs didn't whine Cats didn't pounce Fish didn't swim And birds didn't take flight. As the girl grew older She met an incredible man. They married under The pale moon light. Suddenly the grass sprouted Jumping towards the sky! The sun gleamed luminosity Across the cold, dark sky. The young lady had a trio of children Crawling up her legs Her husband gently gave her a peck And embraced her sweet frame. Suddenly the world came to life Poets dreamed and lovers rejoiced. The world was fresh again And the girl was ecstatic.

So sad beginning creating such a long dark shadow. The idea of eventually taking a hand to lead you into the light is a wonderful image. Enjoyed reading this. Kid regards, Ian
