The Day Is Today
I have to let go of Yesterday
In my hand I have but Today,
Who knows what brings Tomorrow
A gift of joy or loads of sorrow.
It's night here; somewhere it's day,
We walk together but for a short way,
The sun neither rises nor sets,
Miserable of all is the life of regrets.
I can have faith in the Lord,
Or fuss and fret and cry aloud,
I can wake up to face the rising sun
to seek the day’s blessings or shun.
I have to let go of my petty ego
For my Lord upon me to bestow
the ethereal light of His good grace
To enlighten my day, my spirit, my face.
I have to let go of the worldly aspiration
And seek out my path to salvation,
I have to stand in His heavenly presence
And seek my place in His providence.
