The Current
I use to watch you dance,
So graceful, so beautiful,
An angel at a glance.
As the music played,
Softly, slowly, at first.
Why couldn’t you have stayed?
Then a burst,
As you came to life.
Dancing by the waters edge,
I wanted to make you my wife,
We made a pledge.
Where oh where is our second chance?
Why oh why, cant I watch you dance
Why did you have to go?
We were so young,
So young you know.
So innocent,
So much in love.
Then the current,
Now you are above.
