The Cost of Living
Without hesitation
I'm compelled to listen to you;
I can't insist...you
owe nothing of mine!
Suddenly I lose, you win...
for the cost of living
has a price for anything!
I thought it was all over...when I
heard from you,
"I'll stay!"...Poor me,
I hadn't let you know...although
the price I knew you
would have asked, and
in place of a tender heart:
a rock!
Whicht act says generosity...
which means certainty?
And I believed it was all over,
and once and for all I surrender;
the cost of living...
has a price for anything!
