The Coming of the Lord 1 Thessalonians Chapter Four and Chapter Five
The Coming of the Lord 1 Thessalonians chapter four part one
Brothers, we would not have you ignorant concerning those who
have fallen asleep or to grieve like the rest of men, who have no
hope. v 13 We believed that Jesus died and rose again so we
believe that God will bring with Jesus all of those who have fallen
asleep with him. v 14
According to the Lord's own words, we tell you that we who are
still alive, and are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly
not precede those who have fallen asleep. v 15 For the Lord
himself shall come down from heaven, with a loud command,
with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of
God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. v 16
After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up
together to meet them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the
air, And so we will be with the Lord forever. v 17 Therefore
encourage each other with these words. v 18
1st Thessalonians chapter five
Now brothers, about the times and the dates we do not need to
write to you, for you know very well that the day of the Lord shall
come as a thief in the night. v 1-2 While people are saying,"Peace
and safety,"destruction shall come on them suddenly, as the labor
pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape. v 3
But you, brothers are not in darkness so this day should not surprise
you like a thief. v 4 You are all the sons of the light and sons of the
day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness. v 5 So then,
let us not be like the others, who are asleep, but let us be alert and
self- controlled. v 6 For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those
who get drunk, get drunk at night v 7
But since we belong to the day, let us be self-controlled, putting faith
and love as a breast plate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet. v 8
For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath, but to receive salvation
through our Lord Jesus Christ. v9 He died for us so that, whether
we are awake, or asleep, we may live together with him. v 10
Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as
in fact you are doing. v 11
He is not coming as a thief in the night for all of
Us who believe in God and also believe in Him.
All because we are not children of the night but
We are children of the day and of the light
Let us be watchful so that the day when the Lord
Departs from heaven, we shall not be taken by
Complete surprise!
