The Cold May Breeze
Honey's nose is twitching
as the breeze blows over her
coming through the open door,
ruffling her fur.
The sun is brightly shining
on this glorious day in May.
The breeze is still a tad too cold
but tolerated anyway.
The scents of springtime blossoms
permeate the air.
I'll leave it open in spite of the chill
and a sweater I will wear.
The breeze comes off the ocean
making the leaves dance on the trees.
I'll enjoy it despite my allergies
that usually make me sneeze.
Winter was long and frigid,
now gladly left in the past.
Honey and I are enjoying the day,
Spring is here at last !
