The Christ Child

The Christ Child Do you think that Mary knew of All the trials He would face As she wrapped Him up so lovingly And hurried from that lowly place? We know little of his childhood. Did He have a chance to play? Did his siblings all cling to him Knowing he’d be called some day? When Joseph taught Him how to hammer Did He ever hit His thumb? Did Mary as she wrapped His injury, Talk of Whom He would become? Did they celebrate His birthday In those days of long ago? Did they save those first gifts for Him, The frankincense, the myrrh, the gold? I’d like to think there were some good times, For God’s perfect little son, And that he enjoyed his birthdays Before his short life was done.

Oh what a lovely poem full of thoughts to muse on. He came down to be one of us so I assume he was as joy filled as any child could be with such a loving Mother and chosen loving Guardian ..Great thoughts and good meditation material Joyce . Thanks

This is so dear Joyce, full of the feeling one has for a child and a very special one at that. One has to wonder about those in between times we have no record of. This is very special!
