My son went to church With his friend Then came home With excitement in his eyes He is getting baptized What a blessing the day before I took him out for breakfast Then we had to go buy him Some white shorts and t shirt In this time being able to explain This is like your funeral to me my son There is more than being dipped in the water The old man that kept you from God Is going to remain in the grave Under the water to remain When you come up This is the new beginning For you will be baptized with a Spirit That will guide and mold You unto a Child of God With new vision and ears To distinguish between light and dark Buried in baptism raised to Life Crucifying old man that God Might create within a new creation Old things have passed away From following desires of the world New heart and mind to seek Love in unity of the Family of God God will show up to anyone And place the promised spirit within Seek and ye shall find Call and ye shall receive Love all of you, May God bless, comfort, guide and fill You with His peace, love, spirit and joy in abundance: )

"Buried in baptism raised to Life Crucifying old man that God." Now after reading this poem, I understand the full significance of baptism. When a father explains the deep significance of being baptized to a son getting ready for it, how deeply its significance will be imprinted in his mind. I limit my comment as I act against my doctor's instruction. So beautiful and meaningful is your poem Stephan.

Just came to me , when thinking of the burial of my son, that I would rather him be buried why he is alive that he might see that he was walking in the death of sinful nature that can only be circumcized by the holy Spirit to raise up a new spiritual living being, much love to you and Bill in being pulled together in the spirit of Gods family, May God bless, comfort, guide and fill you with His peace, love, spirit and joy in abundance: )

A FAV for your wonderful explanation of what transpires when a human makes a decision to accept Christ as their savior and then follows His example and is baptized. What a joy it is to know a child of ours has chosen to be a child of His. I happy for your son and all that love him. Smiles ~ Blessings my brother in Christ.
