The Bums Play Somewhere Else

Just in case this is something you didn't know before: the Dodgers don't play baseball in Brooklyn anymore. Ebbett's Field is a ballpark we will no longer see. It was torn down, and is now a part of history. Even though those boys in blue have gone away, they are still playing the game of baseball today. In a new town, the Bums have achieved greater success. Home games are played in the California city of Los Angeles.

Ah, but they aren't adored as they were in Brooklyn. They may have been Bums for a long time, but the late 40's, they were heroes. Gil Hodges, Duke Snider, and the great Jackie Robinson. I remember crying when they tore apart Ebbets Field... And what other town would have made Hank Greenberg, a Tiger for crying out loud, the 'King of Brooklyn?!' (And he was!!). Great reminiscing, Robert. :) gw
