The Bliss of Solitude

In life’s incessant din As I search for peace within Lone spaces I desire And stillness I adore Then silence is my mate And noise is what I hate Closing my eyes to the outer space A window opens to my inner space I begin to find solace in my solitude And look up to Heaven in gratitude Enriched with visions pleasurable I enter into a realm so delectable The vault of Heaven gemmed and bright And the Earth and sea overwhelmed in light The disquiet within me subsides An unassailable calm slowly descends I hear a caring voice from somewhere A faint voice quite reassuring, so near Then within me the Wider Life emerges And the lesser life finally submerges I experience what is true peace and content And I am so sure it is heaven sent Oh! What solace is in my solitude! And how I move into near beatitude! Jan.31.2023 Finding Peace Poetry Contest Sponsor- Regina McIntosh

This is truly profound writing, allowing spirit to lead you to the unchangeable-immortal. The true reality of being, beyond the ephemeral physical many of us wrongly worship. The quieter one becomes, the more one hears...silence is not only golden, it is a symphony of inspiration. You get a FAVE from me!

Your poems always take my breath away. Another favorite. You sound like me, I need quiet, and oh what blessed peace, true peace when our Lord takes us there, right in the sanctuary of our heart where He dwells <3 Hugs to you sweet Valsa <3 Be blessed this week my friend :)

Some are blissed with gift of peace--it's the power within that unleashes calm--as you so well convey in this poem, Valsa. Best to you.

This one reads like a sure way to get in touch with God and feel His presence. Sometimes we become too busy, noisy, and too tensed up to really worship. Reads like a good contender to me for the contest. Way to go. Thanks for sharing and for dropping by my page. Sara

Dear Valsa, I know solitude first class. My day is mainly spent alone at home, except for a visit to church and buying fruit and groceries. Excellent poem with perfect rhyme, which is difficult for me.
