The Blind Man On the Street

The blind man on the street.... He never saw the world but he understands the world through his eyes He can not walk without his white cane and dark glasses but his spirits keep on racked him with pain Some time he accompany with a dog to kill his loneliness When not wearing his special dark glasses He was always looking saddened with his red eyes and pleading to the people on the street for money When I see him then my heart becomes very heavy and I'LL throw few coins into his bowl that he holds every time I see him no matter how many times I see him in a days time He earns few dollars everyday to fulfill his hunger and thirst Some people tell that the blind men have no eyes but he can see far more than us. Because he sees everything through his heart and mind He touches us and tell about our personality He can touch any money and tell how much it is But he has to suffer for rest of his life without being able to see this world where he has born from nothing Like known as a shadow knows his shadow, so he lives as no one shadow. God provides us with angels like this so that we have the opportunity to be truly human. He allows us to be his hands and eyes here on earth. It is good that you could see this man for more and not merely walk by and give him no thought.

Your poem is a very beautiful one and excellent dedication to our visually impaired brothers & sisters my dear friend Ravi. i love it so much. They've lost their sight but they've compensated them strongly with the other senses & special talents but still they should be treated with love and compassion.Your poem reminds me of my friends in SPED Class 6yrs. back. They were amazing. Thank you so much for sharing & your precious time reading my poem. God bless! love and hugs, Leonora

This is a very sad poem. You have seen the Blind man in his reality. I once met a blind university student in a bus. in his final year. he said when I asked. He sees only black. no other colour. but with sound and smell he identifies the world around him. his these two senses i guess are very powerful. nice plot to ponder about. thanks for your encouraging comments on mine Ravi dear !.
