The Black Buick
and he was a legend wherever he went, polite, good looking and with a certain killer style, they all loved him, his ways, his humor but most of all because he didn't compete with them....easy going and honest to a tee.
so shockwaves shot round the town and further, when he was found with his pants down in the back of his black Buick, with two good time girls, a sack of crack and a pipe to smoke it,
and after a while, he "examined his future,"... and it wasn't good
and the faithful sort of fell away, like a wasps' nest falling from a tree, and his looks went and he became kinda gruff, taking issue with anyone and everything
his kids suffered at school and his wife began to treat him like a distant cousin,
providing a separate room (for a time) for the newly arrived kin:
time dragged on like a samba dance in treacle, each step more risky than the one before... then he lost his job, his wife, his kids
and a year or so later they found him in a cheap motel, pale as death, choked on his own vomit...he was dirty and had two dollars in his coat and a pink slip with writing across the back in his hand...
"one black Buick, leather interior, with extras for sale, cash offers,"...
