The Birds and the Bees

When I was young, in my teenage years, I developed a lot of doubts and fears! I was very perplexed, about love and sex so I went to my parents, in tears! I said, "mom and dad, enlighten me please"! So they told me about, "the birds and the bees"! Their intentions were good, they did the best that they could, but I could tell, they were far from, at ease! But, today things aren't the same. Movies and TV are to blame! Youngsters learn about sex, sometimes, with tragic effects, the outcome, too often's, a shame! Now, Birds are just nesting in trees. Honey's being made by the Bees! The "Birds and the Bees" metaphor, ain't really effective no more, we're just left, with some old memories!

what a great ENDING having the poor birds and bees just being what they are in nature and nothing like the days of innocence when they were used by parents to explain something a kid did not really know until much later than today's kids. Good job.

You are right on with this set of limericks. Very true...innocence has been lost. I'm raising my son under a rock. LOL (maybe not, but pretty close). Best wishes in the contest. Blessings, Rhonda :)
