THE BIG 3

THE BIG 3 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ In the pantheon of rhyme, where legends intertwine, Three emcees blaze trails, so divine. Kendrick, Drake, & Cole, in that revered line, Emcees crafting worlds, beyond the baseline.4 First, Kendrick Lamar, Compton’s lyrical son, A poet, a prophet, rolled into one. His verses, dense forests, where light & shadow play, Tackling life's contradictions, in a brilliant array.8 Kendrick Lamar, with his lyrical finesse, With verses that never seem to stress. "Good Kid, M.A.D City," a masterpiece told, A journey through streets, where truths unfold.¹² Second, sail to the North, where Drake reigns supreme, From "Degrassi" to "God’s Plan," a mainstream dream. He is a master of melody and flow, His hits and bangers, all crowds aglow.¹6 A chameleon of sound, from R&B to rap's core, Crafting anthems of love, loss, & much more. Views from all round the globe, far & wide, Drake’s vulnerabilities shows he does not hide.²° Juggernaut of hits, charts bending to his will, In the kingdom of music, Drake sits tranquil.²² Thirdly, J. Cole, the sage from Fayetteville, Stories woven with wisdom, truths that thrill. J. Cole, with wisdom beyond his years, Dropping truths that resonate, calming fears.²6 “Forest Hills Drive,” his opus, pure and clear, A mirror to the soul, for those who dare to hear. No feature needed, his narrative alone, Casting light on shadows, society has grown.³° Together, these three, a trinity of might, Their words, their rhythms, set the night alight. So here's to The Big 3, in all their glory, Masters of their craft, each with his own story.³4 Though he has so many questionable moments, From album flops to personal mishaps,³6 But from the consensus, Drake has the hits, Kendrick is #1 bcos of the albums & the diss, Cole, 3rd, has the lyrics & the dope flows.³? Albums are like championships, it holds more weight. May their verses continue to inspire and amaze, In rap's grandeur, their names forever blaze.4² VICK MANUEL POETRY {VMP} FORM: Rhymes Copyright ©? 24th March 2024.
